AVAST! antivirus - the Editor’s Review

The first thing you notice about AVAST! is that it has two different interfaces, one for a less experienced user and one for an advanced one. The former is difficult to use because the options are not labeled with the exception of a description that pops up when the user hovers over a button. The latter provides many more options that enable the user to customize features like computer scanning and updates.
AVAST! has an on-demand scanner and a resident scanner that may slow down the system in the process of download, file transfer, opening programs. Emails and email attachments are scanned automatically so that virus software, but also POP3 or IMAP accounts might be detected.

In terms of features, this antivirus software offers a series of advanced options without causing major slow downs of your computer, but the rate of virus detection is not as productive as in the case of highly-ranked products.
